A personal approach to residential architecture

A home should work as beautifully as it looks. We begin with how you actually live: your routines, your property, the rooms you’ll use every day. From there, we design a house that is as practical in daily use as it is elegant, and unmistakably yours.

Consistency

From the first conversation through construction, you work directly with Kendra. A residential project involves hundreds of interconnected decisions, and having one person hold all of them keeps the picture whole. We develop and compare options, explain tradeoffs early, and keep design, function, budget, and schedule in view as the project evolves. Each choice builds on the last, and the original intent carries through to the finished house.

Coordination

A residential project brings together a wide range of expertise. KNR introduces the professionals each project requires and coordinates and manages their work throughout the process. This gives clients one clear point of coordination and ensures that the right expertise is involved at the right time.

Depending on the project, the team may include geotechnical, civil, and structural engineers; a general contractor; an interior designer; a Title 24 consultant; a landscape architect; a solar consultant; and specialists who prepare as-built drawings.

Process

Understand

We begin with your goals, lifestyle, property, priorities, and constraints.

Design

We develop options and help you understand how each affects the way the home works, looks, costs, and can be built.

Document

We translate the selected direction into detailed construction documents and guide the project through planning approvals and permitting.

Build

We remain involved during construction through site visits, coordination, and the resolution of questions as they arise.
