Studio

KNR Design Studio is a residential architecture practice based in Silicon Valley. We design new homes, remodels, rebuilds, additions, and ADUs in a range of architectural styles.

Our work is guided by three ideas: a home should be beautiful, practical, and specific to the people who live there. We pay close attention to natural light, flow, materials, energy performance, and the relationship between the home and its site.

Principal

Kendra Rosenberg, AIA, is a licensed California architect and the founder and principal of KNR Design Studio. She has more than 18 years of experience spanning custom residences and luxury hospitality.

Kendra holds a Master of Architecture and a Certificate in Building Science from the University of Southern California. She is also a LEED Accredited Professional in Building Design and Construction.

Clients work directly with Kendra throughout the design and construction process.

Local expertise

Born and raised in the Bay Area, Kendra has spent most of her career working in the communities KNR serves. She also serves as Vice Chair of the Palo Alto Architectural Review Board. Together, this experience has given her a strong familiarity with local municipalities, planning processes, and reviewing agencies. It helps KNR anticipate constraints, communicate clearly, and guide clients through approvals.

Kendra’s connection to the community extends beyond her practice. She was a founding board member of Magical Bridge Playground in Palo Alto and has contributed designs to Dreams Happen in support of Rebuilding Together Peninsula.

Hospitality experience

Kendra’s earlier hospitality work included projects for The Ritz-Carlton, Four Seasons, Rosewood, Montage, St. Regis, W Hotels, and One&Only.
